PTI Offers YouTube Creators Affordable Access to Video Content

Move comes amid criticism of ANI’s copyright enforcement practices

The Press Trust of India (PTI) has announced a new initiative to provide YouTube content creators with “highly affordable access” to its video library. This move comes as a growing number of digital creators voice frustration over Asia News International (ANI)’s strict copyright enforcement.

In a post shared on social media, PTI acknowledged the challenges content creators face and invited them to contact its sales and marketing team to explore access options. The agency positioned itself as a more creator-friendly alternative during a time of tension between creators and traditional media outlets.

This development follows allegations that ANI has aggressively pursued copyright claims against creators. YouTuber Mohak Mangal stated that ANI issued multiple copyright strikes on his channel for using clips under 15 seconds in length. According to Mangal, ANI later demanded ₹48 lakh plus GST to lift the strikes.

Under YouTube’s policy, receiving three copyright strikes can lead to permanent channel termination, making the stakes particularly high for independent content creators. PTI’s offer is being viewed as a potential solution for creators seeking credible video sources without the risk of severe copyright penalties.
