Akash Ambani Unveils ‘Jio Frames’ Smart Glasses with AI Voice Assistant and HD Camera

At Reliance Industries’ 48th Annual General Meeting, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL), launched Jio Frames, an AI-powered smart glasses platform designed for India.

“Jio Frames is an AI-powered wearable platform and ecosystem, made for India,” said Ambani, introducing the device that blends AI capabilities with everyday utility.

The smart glasses come with a built-in HD camera that allows users to capture high-resolution photos, record videos, and go live. All content is automatically saved to Jio AI Cloud, Reliance’s secure cloud storage platform. The device also features a multilingual AI voice assistant, supporting several Indian languages for easy access and interaction.

Users can make voice calls, attend meetings, listen to music or podcasts, and even get book summaries and recipes. With open-ear speakers, the glasses offer clear audio while keeping users aware of their surroundings.

On the business front, Jio posted strong financials for FY25, with revenue reaching ₹1,28,218 crore ($15 billion)-a 17% year-on-year growth. EBITDA rose to ₹64,170 crore ($7.5 billion).

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, announced that Jio is preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) in the first half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals. He also revealed Jio’s plans to expand beyond India, where it currently serves over 500 million users.

With Jio Frames, the company marks a bold step into the AI wearable tech space, reinforcing its vision to lead India into a digital-first future.
