Swiggy’s Instamart kicked off its first nationwide Quick India Movement Sale with record-breaking numbers – a 5X surge in traffic and unprecedented order volumes within hours of launch. The sale, which runs until September 28, even saw deliveries completed in as little as 60 seconds in cities like Noida and Lucknow.

Electronics Dominate Early Orders

Consumer electronics were the star of the sale. iPhone orders jumped 20X, while earbuds sales soared 30X. Large appliances, including mixer-grinders and gas stoves, recorded a 50X spike, signaling how quick commerce is moving beyond just snacks and staples.

Bedsheets saw a 90X surge across 124 cities, while yoga mats sold out in 62 locations with a 100X jump. Brooms turned into an unlikely bestseller with 40X growth, while essentials like ghee, sunflower oil, and energy drinks recorded massive spikes. Premium snacks such as makhana and cashews also saw high traction.

Tier 2 Cities Power Growth

Smaller cities led much of the expansion – Bathinda saw an 18X rise, Ludhiana 15X, and Kota, Meerut, and Amritsar each posted 12X growth. Demand in these regions was strong for electronics, cleaning products, and beverages, reinforcing quick commerce’s growing reach.

Speed Remains Instamart’s USP

Instamart highlighted its rapid delivery capabilities, with items like earbuds, mixers, and bedsheets reaching customers in under a minute. Udaipur, Panipat, and Thrissur were among the fastest Tier 2 markets, achieving consistent sub-10-minute deliveries.

Expanding Beyond Staples

Learning kits (120X), musical toys (80X), and grooming products such as trimmers and face washes saw massive jumps. Protein bars, soaps, and detergents spiked during peak “golden hours.”

Festive Season Battle Heats Up

With up to 90% discounts across 50,000 products and bank cashback offers, Instamart is directly challenging rivals Blinkit, Zepto, and BigBasket. The Quick India Sale is designed to make Swiggy a key player in India’s festive shopping season by combining speed, scale, and aggressive pricing.
