NDTV has unveiled the NDTV Golf ProAm at the recently concluded NDTV World Summit 2025, introducing what is poised to become the most prestigious event on India’s corporate golf circuit.
Rooted in the global tradition of ProAm tournaments, the NDTV Golf ProAm brings together professional golfers and amateurs, giving corporate leaders a unique opportunity to test their skills alongside top pros while fostering connections beyond the boardroom.
The tournament will travel across India – from Delhi to Bengaluru, Mumbai to Kolkata – creating a multi-city circuit that is exclusive, aspirational, and engaging.
The official launch took place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, during the NDTV World Summit, in the presence of an esteemed audience. Among the dignitaries were Kapil Dev, cricket legend and President of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI); Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI; Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa; David Howell, DP World Tour veteran; and Ajeetesh Sandhu, international golf champion. Their presence underscored the ambition and scale of the initiative.
Golf in India has steadily grown in popularity, particularly among corporate professionals, yet it has often lacked the broadcast scale and visibility of mainstream sports. The NDTV ProAm aims to bridge this gap – elevating the sport’s profile while creating a new platform for competitive yet collaborative corporate engagement.
Speaking at the launch, Amitabh Kant highlighted golf’s immense potential:
“The sport with the maximum potential in India right now is golf. India will produce some of the world’s top champions – our young demographic ensures that for the next 30 years, Indian golfers will make their mark globally.”
Kapil Dev echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the sport’s inclusivity:
“Golf is a game for all ages. You can play with your father, your grandchildren, or your friends – that’s what makes it so special. I’m grateful to NDTV for giving golf the platform it deserves.”
He further praised NDTV’s vision:
“When I heard about the ProAm, I was thrilled. Golfers are happy that finally, the media is giving this sport the attention it needs – we’ll finally be on television.”
The NDTV ProAm expands NDTV’s growing portfolio of experiential and marquee properties, which already includes business summits, cultural festivals, and live events. By blending sport, leadership, and lifestyle, NDTV continues to create formats that resonate with both participants and viewers.
The tournament will be broadcast and amplified across NDTV’s television and digital platforms, bringing the stories and energy of the greens to millions nationwide.
Rahul Kanwal, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of NDTV, summed up the vision:
“We’re excited to give golf in India the kind of scale and platform that cricket enjoys. Golf deserves that spotlight – and that’s exactly what we aim to achieve with the NDTV ProAm.”
With its mix of prestige, competition, and visibility, the NDTV Golf ProAm is set to become the most sought-after invitation in India’s corporate sporting calendar – celebrating leadership, ambition, and connection, both on and off the greens.
