Mumbai: Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), managed by Mashal Sports Pvt. Ltd in partnership with Jio Star, along with its long-standing digital partner Sportz Interactive, has celebrated a significant digital milestone-the receipt of YouTube’s prestigious Golden Play Button after surpassing one million subscribers. This achievement comes on the heels of the successful completion of PKL Season 12 last month.
With this milestone, PKL becomes only the second Indian sports league to reach the one-million-subscriber mark on YouTube, reinforcing its status as a year-round digital property and highlighting the growing popularity of indigenous Indian sports. Sportz Interactive has been instrumental in this success, deploying platform-specific content strategies that include repurposing match footage into story-driven highlights, producing exclusive original content, and enhancing PKL’s creator-led presence across platforms.
Over seven years of collaboration, Sportz Interactive and Mashal Sports have transformed PKL’s YouTube channel into a vibrant digital hub that reflects the thrill, strategy, and emotion of the sport. Improvements in thumbnails, metadata, scheduling, and analytics-driven content optimization have fueled consistent organic growth. Subscribers have surged from 326K in 2020 to over one million in 2025, reflecting the power of cohesive storytelling, fan community building, and data-backed creativity.
