Swiggy Introduces ‘EatRight’ to Make Healthier Food Choices More Accessible

Swiggy has expanded its platform with the launch of EatRight, a dedicated category designed to simplify the discovery and ordering of healthier food options. The new category is now live across more than 50 cities in India, reflecting the company’s response to growing consumer demand for mindful eating without compromising on convenience.

EatRight brings together Swiggy’s existing health-led offerings-High Protein, Low Cal, and No Added Sugar-under a single, clearly defined section. According to Swiggy, the category currently features over 1.8 million dishes from more than 200,000 restaurant partners. Users can access the section directly by searching for “EatRight” on the app.

Unlike traditional diet-focused segments, EatRight is positioned as an everyday eating option. The selection includes high-protein versions of regular meals, lower-calorie alternatives to popular dishes, and desserts and beverages made without added sugar. The idea is to integrate healthier choices seamlessly into users’ regular ordering habits rather than framing them as short-term dietary fixes.

Deepak Maloo, vice president – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, said the launch marks a shift in how the platform approaches food discovery. He noted that EatRight is designed to reduce decision fatigue through clear categorisation while offering consistency and scale, making mindful eating a sustainable habit rather than a one-time resolution.

Swiggy also shared platform insights highlighting a surge in health-focused orders, especially in Tier-2 cities, where growth has been twice as fast as in metro markets. Demand for no-added-sugar items has been particularly strong during breakfast and late-night hours, alongside rising interest in ingredients such as tofu and soya.

Several restaurant partners are now expanding menus to align with EatRight, introducing new variants and pricing offers, as Swiggy continues to build a more inclusive and accessible health-focused food ecosystem.
