Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a leadership realignment under a revised operating model aimed at strengthening a content-first, platform-agnostic approach across both television and digital ecosystems. The restructuring is designed to deliver clearer end-to-end ownership of content, improve coordination between linear channels and Sony LIV, and better align monetization and distribution strategies.
Explaining the shift, Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO of SPNI, said the company has reviewed its organizational structure to support its next phase of growth. He noted that SPNI is moving from a largely linear-first strategy to an integrated linear-and-digital approach, focused on delivering a seamless consumer experience across platforms. The changes are expected to enhance agility, collaboration and execution, while reinforcing a customer-centric brand and content strategy.
Under the new structure, content clusters have been given comprehensive responsibility covering content strategy, programming, marketing and on-air promotions across both linear and digital platforms. Nachiket Pantvaidya will lead Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Marathi and movie production, while Ajay Bhalwankar will head Sony SAB, the movies cluster, free-to-air channels and infotainment. Regional expansion in southern India will be overseen by Rajaraman Sundaram, and Ambesh Tiwari will lead Sony AATH along with the kids’ business.
SPNI also confirmed that a new digital business head will be appointed. Until then, Banerjee will directly oversee the digital vertical.
On the revenue front, advertising, distribution, sports and international businesses have been consolidated under a unified monetization structure led by Chief Revenue Officer Rajesh Kaul. Supporting functions have also been realigned, with corporate brand and communications headed by Gaurav Laghate, and administration moving under HR leadership led by Manu Wadhwa.
