Budweiser 0.0 has made its debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by partnering with five franchises-Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals-marking a significant expansion of its presence in India’s cricket ecosystem.
This multi-team association reflects a strategic shift from broad, national-level engagement to more localised, city-driven fan connections. Through these partnerships, Budweiser 0.0 aims to celebrate the distinct identity, traditions, and energy of each team’s fanbase while deepening its cultural relevance among Indian audiences.
As part of the collaboration, the brand will roll out team-linked activations across cities along with limited-edition merchandise tailored to each franchise. These initiatives are designed to create immersive fan experiences and strengthen emotional connections with supporters during the high-energy IPL season.
The move builds on Budweiser 0.0’s existing ‘In the Hands of Fans’ platform, which focuses on empowering fan expression and positioning the brand at the intersection of sport and culture. By aligning with multiple teams, the brand gains access to diverse regional audiences, allowing it to scale visibility while maintaining local relevance.
Vineet Sharma, Vice President – Marketing & Trade Marketing at AB InBev India, highlighted cricket’s role as a powerful cultural connector and described the IPL entry as a deliberate step toward embedding the brand deeper into India’s evolving fan culture.
Overall, the partnership underscores a growing trend of brands collaborating with multiple franchises to maximise reach, engagement, and cultural impact during marquee sporting events like the IPL.
