Spotify has introduced a new feature, SongDNA, currently rolling out in beta for its Premium users globally, including India. The feature is designed to transform music listening from a passive activity into a more interactive and insightful experience.
SongDNA enables users to dive deeper into the origins and evolution of the songs they stream. It provides detailed insights into the creative forces behind each track, including producers, collaborators, and contributing artists. By doing so, Spotify is giving listeners a clearer view of the people and processes that shape the music they love.
A key highlight of the feature is its ability to map connections between songs across genres and time. Users can explore how tracks are linked through shared influences, collaborations, and stylistic similarities. This network-style discovery allows listeners to understand how music evolves and how different artists and sounds are interconnected.
Additionally, SongDNA sheds light on elements such as samples, interpolations, and cover versions associated with a track. This helps users trace how a song’s sound has been built and how it has influenced other works over time.
The feature began rolling out on March 24 and is being introduced in phases across iOS and Android devices. In India, it is already accessible to Premium users across plans, including Lite, Standard, and Platinum.
With SongDNA, Spotify continues to strengthen its focus on music discovery and user engagement, offering a richer, more immersive streaming experience beyond just listening.
