Mia by Tanishq has launched a new Rakshabandhan campaign built around a cheeky, heartfelt idea – “Make Your Sister Cry” – encouraging brothers to return the spirit of Rakhi not with mischief, but with a gesture thoughtful enough to move their sisters to happy tears.
The campaign taps into the familiar texture of sibling relationships – inside jokes, playful fights and unspoken affection. Its digital film opens with a classic squabble, a brother dodging a barrage of pillows, books and water bottles from his sister, before he surprises her with a Mia by Tanishq gift. Her playful irritation melts into genuine emotion as she opens the box to find a pendant inside.
The film is set to Kishore Kumar’s “Phoolon ka Taaron ka, sabka kehna hai,” lending the moment nostalgia and cultural weight while grounding the story in a contemporary sibling dynamic. It closes on the line, “Gifts so precious, they’ll bring tears of joy.”
Ajay Maurya, Head of Marketing and Category, Mia by Tanishq, said siblings rarely voice their love directly, expressing it instead through teasing and quiet presence, and that the campaign turns a bit of mischief into a moment worth holding onto – letting a gift say what siblings often leave unsaid.
Alongside the campaign, Mia is introducing six silver rakhis starting at ₹799, themed around “Value of Community Bonding” and reflecting Rakshabandhan’s expanding meaning beyond siblings to friends and communities. Each comes with a potli of Roli, Chawal, Haldi and Kalava, alongside jewellery pieces starting at ₹4,999.
