CDSL IPF Teams Up With Amar Chitra Katha for Multilingual Investor Education Film

CDSL Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has launched a multilingual investor education film in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha to simplify core financial planning and investing concepts for a wide audience.

Titled The Garden of Prosperity, the animated film follows Akbar and Birbal as they guide a newly married couple on how to invest their wedding gifts. Using a garden as its central metaphor, the film explains goal-based investing, diversification across financial goals, aligning investments with different time horizons, and the importance of maintaining an emergency fund.

Available in 12 languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia and Assamese – the film is designed to reach investors across both urban and rural markets.

Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF Secretariat, said financial education works best when complex concepts are told through simple, relatable stories, and that pairing the timeless wisdom of Akbar and Birbal with practical financial lessons makes investing easier to grasp across age groups and geographies. He added that through formats like films and comics, CDSL IPF hopes to encourage goal-based investing and help investors participate in the securities market with greater confidence and responsibility.

The film builds on CDSL IPF’s broader investor education partnership with Amar Chitra Katha, which has previously produced comics including The Unofficial Ustaad and The Golden Peacock Fraud – reinforcing a consistent, story-led approach to financial literacy outreach across India’s diverse linguistic markets.
