MTR Foods Launches ‘India’s Sweetest Language’ Festive Campaign

MTR Foods has launched ‘India’s Sweetest Language’, a festive campaign exploring how sweets express emotions and mark occasions in Indian households. The campaign includes an illustrated book, a digital film and an expanded sweets portfolio, built around the idea that sweets speak a language of their own.

The book collects words and phrases linked to sharing sweets across Indian languages, using limericks and everyday festive situations to explain their meaning. Expressions such as ‘Ek aur lo’, ‘Olleyadagali’ and ‘Aavta rehjo’ feature in it. The digital film follows a young girl who discovers the book at a community gathering, as the phrases come alive through moments of care, blessings and family reunions.

The launch coincides with an expanded sweets range. Alongside Mysore Pak, Gulab Jamun and Coconut Burfi, MTR is introducing offerings with ghee, jaggery and dates, plus new formats, including a portion-controlled Mysore Pak. Anupam Nair, chief marketing and growth officer, said sweets become a universal language of affection during festivals, often saying “I care for you” without words.

Soumabha Nandi of Social Panga, the creative agency, said the behaviour already existed and the team simply recognised it as a language. The book was created to document this vocabulary and give the idea a life beyond the film. The campaign will also include creator collaborations, digital storytelling and on-ground activations.
