Swiggy has finally answered the question the internet has been asking. After temporarily renaming its Instagram display name and profile picture to “Sweety” while keeping the @swiggyindia handle intact, the brand has revealed that Sweety is its Diwali sweets delivery play, announced through a front-page ad in Hindustan Times.
The teaser phase was built carefully. The bio read “Haan hoon main Sweety, now what to do?”, and delivery partners were spotted in T-shirts printed with “Sweety”, turning curiosity into a real-world talking point. It was a pattern-interrupt play built on the curiosity gap, with no explanation and only enough clues to keep people guessing and sharing.
The reveal arrives in bold orange. One creative shows a delivery bag branded Sweety with the line “Oh Sweety Ghar Aana”, while the other shows a box of mithai with the headline “Dekho Woh Aa Gaya”. Both carry the tagline “Sweets you love, on time.” The offer is clear too: order sweets above ₹1,500 and get ₹500 cashback, with terms applying.
The campaign shows how a mystery can be turned into a sales moment. By starting with intrigue and ending with a timely festive offer, Swiggy has linked a meme-friendly stunt to a clear purpose: owning the Diwali gifting and sweets-ordering moment, when households are shopping for mithai in large numbers. The playful name keeps the tone light while the product does the selling.
