CEAT Tyres has rolled out a new two-wheeler campaign, ‘Built for Grip’, placing friendship firmly at the centre of the ride. Conceptualised by Ogilvy India, the film draws a smart parallel between group riding and team sports, where the whole squad moves as one.
The story follows a group of friends tackling varied terrains together. One rider repeatedly struggles to keep pace, but instead of leaving him behind, his friends help him switch to CEAT tyres. The change gives him the confidence to match the group’s speed and, eventually, take the lead.
Directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi (Bob) of Good Morning Films, the campaign recreates iconic friendship anthems, giving the film a nostalgic, feel-good rhythm. The underlying message is simple: group journeys are best enjoyed when every member feels secure and moves forward together. It is an emotional hook that will feel familiar to anyone who has ridden with a gang of friends.
The campaign also moves away from the traditional “macho biker” stereotype by naturally featuring women riders within the group, reflecting how riding communities actually look today. By anchoring grip, a core product benefit, in a story about camaraderie, CEAT turns a functional promise into a human one. The film suggests that confidence on the road isn’t only about the rider; it’s also about the tyres beneath and the friends alongside. Grip, here, is a team effort.
