Netflix to Stream WWE Content in India Starting April 2025

Netflix has announced the expansion of its WWE partnership to include India, with streaming set to begin on April 1, 2025. This builds upon Netflix’s existing exclusive rights to WWE content in the US, Canada, and UK.

In a targeted promotional video, WWE legend Triple H confirmed that the platform will broadcast all major WWE properties, including RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and premium events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

This expansion brings WWE content to one of the world’s largest and most passionate wrestling audiences, representing a significant enhancement of Netflix’s investment in wrestling entertainment.

The deal aligns with Netflix’s growing commitment to live broadcasting globally. The streaming giant has been diversifying beyond on-demand content, securing rights to NFL games and FIFA Women’s World Cups.

Netflix’s journey into live programming has faced technical challenges. Early events like “Love Is Blind: Reunion” experienced delayed starts and audio problems, while the Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul boxing match suffered from streaming issues that prompted viewer complaints.

Despite these hurdles, Netflix’s expansion strategy appears successful. The company recently reported adding 18.9 million new subscribers in the quarter ended December 2024, significantly exceeding Wall Street’s projection of 9.2 million.
