Adobe has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with generative video pioneer Runway to accelerate the evolution of AI-driven video creation for creators, brands, studios, media houses, and enterprises. The collaboration combines Runway’s advanced generative video models with Adobe’s widely trusted creative ecosystem, enabling professional-grade, flexible, and scalable AI video workflows.
As part of the agreement, Adobe becomes Runway’s preferred API creativity partner, giving creators early access to Runway’s latest video generation technology. The partnership begins with the launch of Runway’s newly introduced Gen-4.5 model, which will be available for a limited time exclusively within Adobe Firefly-Adobe’s unified creative AI platform.
Beyond early access, Adobe and Runway will jointly develop specialised AI video features tailored specifically for professional production needs. These capabilities will roll out across Adobe applications, starting with Firefly and expanding to Creative Cloud tools such as Premiere Pro and After Effects, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows.
Runway’s Gen-4.5 model delivers notable improvements in motion realism, visual quality, prompt accuracy, and temporal consistency. Within Firefly, creators can generate videos using text prompts, adjust pacing and creative direction, and then refine their output using Adobe’s professional editing tools.
Adobe also reaffirmed its creator-first AI philosophy, highlighting that content generated through Firefly is not used to train generative models. By merging Runway’s cutting-edge video innovation with Adobe’s industry-standard tools, the partnership aims to make AI video creation a reliable and essential component of modern storytelling across entertainment, advertising, media, and enterprise applications.
