Airtel Partners with Perplexity to Offer Free Pro Access to All Customers

One-year Perplexity Pro subscription, valued at ₹17,000, now free for Airtel users

In a first-of-its-kind move, Bharti Airtel has announced a strategic partnership with Perplexity, the AI-powered search and answer engine, to offer 12 months of Perplexity Pro access free of charge to all Airtel customers – including mobile, broadband, and DTH users.

Perplexity is known for delivering real-time, conversational responses, replacing traditional web listings with direct answers. Its AI-driven engine allows users to refine results through interactive follow-ups and offers a seamless experience for both casual and professional users.

While Perplexity’s free version covers basic functionalities, the Pro version, globally priced at ₹17,000 per year, unlocks advanced features such as:

  • Increased daily search limits
  • Access to premium AI models like GPT-4.1 and Claude
  • Model selection capabilities
  • Deep research, image generation, file uploads and analysis
  • Access to Perplexity Labs for ideation and content creation

Airtel customers can now access these premium features for free for one year by logging into the Airtel Thanks app.

“We’re thrilled to launch this game-changing partnership with Perplexity,” said Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Bharti Airtel. “This collaboration brings powerful AI knowledge tools directly into the hands of millions of Airtel users-at no extra cost. It’s a bold step in helping our customers stay ahead in an increasingly digital world.”

Aravind Srinivas, Co-founder & CEO, Perplexity, added, “This partnership allows us to bring accurate, trustworthy, and professional-grade AI to a wider audience in India. Whether you’re a student, working professional, or home manager, Perplexity Pro offers a smarter, easier way to learn, research, and get things done.”

This marks Perplexity’s first partnership with an Indian telecom provider, signaling a growing focus on AI accessibility in the country.
