Alchemist Marketing Solutions Group acquires Triton Communications to expand beyond real estate

Alchemist Marketing Solutions Group has acquired Triton Communications, a legacy Indian advertising agency founded in 1991, marking a strategic move to diversify its business beyond its core real estate and healthcare focus. With this acquisition, Alchemist aims to strengthen and expand its integrated marketing offerings across FMCG, D2C, services, durables, and corporate sectors.

Triton Communications will continue to operate as an independent brand under the Alchemist umbrella. Founded by Ali Merchant and Munawar Syed, Triton has played a significant role in shaping Indian advertising over the past three decades. The agency has worked with well-known brands such as Eureka Forbes, Vicco, Adani Wilmar, Wagh Bakri, Mother’s Recipe, UB Group, ABD, and Yes Bank. It is also known for iconic campaigns including Aquaguard’s ‘Paani ka Doctor’, Moov’s ‘aah se aaha tak’, and SetWet’s ‘very very sexy’.

Manish Porwal, group managing director, Alchemist Marketing Solutions, described Triton as more than just an agency, calling it an institution built with passion and a strong creative DNA. He stated that the acquisition aligns with Alchemist’s ambition to replicate its sectoral leadership across a wider range of industries while revitalising Triton’s legacy with fresh energy.

Rajkumar Remalli, director at Alchemist, highlighted that the acquisition combines Triton’s foundational creative strength with Alchemist’s strategy-first, performance-driven approach. Anujita Jain, director and CEO (Digital), added that Triton will be reimagined as a new-age offering suited to post-pandemic consumer behaviour and the evolving marketing ecosystem.

Ali Merchant, founder of Triton Communications, said the transition was driven by the need for agility and scale in a rapidly changing industry. He expressed confidence that Alchemist would preserve Triton’s spirit while future-proofing it for the next phase of growth.

Alchemist also confirmed that it is exploring the appointment of a CEO or co-founder to lead Triton as an autonomous agency, supported by the group’s board and infrastructure.
