Amazon has taken a significant step in expanding its AI ecosystem by launching Alexa.com, bringing its upgraded AI assistant Alexa+ to the web. Announced at the opening of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the new platform is currently rolling out to Alexa+ Early Access users, marking Amazon’s move beyond hardware-led interactions to a more platform-agnostic experience.

With Alexa.com, users can interact with Alexa+ in a chatbot-style interface similar to other popular AI tools. This allows the assistant to fit naturally into everyday digital workflows, whether users are researching complex topics, generating written content, or planning detailed travel itineraries. Amazon’s larger goal is to ensure Alexa remains competitive by being accessible not just through Echo devices, but also on mobile and web platforms – even for users who may not own an Alexa-enabled product.

Alongside the web rollout, Amazon is redesigning the Alexa mobile app to emphasize conversation-first interactions. The updated interface places the chatbot experience at the center, while other features play a supporting role, reflecting a more “agent-forward” design philosophy.

What sets Alexa+ apart, according to Amazon, is its focus on family and household use cases. Beyond general AI tasks, Alexa+ can manage smart home devices, organize family calendars and to-do lists, plan movie nights, make dinner reservations, and add groceries directly to Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods carts.

Amazon is also strengthening Alexa+ through expanded service integrations. New partners like Angi, Expedia, Square, and Yelp join existing integrations such as OpenTable, Ticketmaster, Uber, and Thumbtack, enabling users to complete actions seamlessly within the assistant.

With Alexa now spanning devices, mobile, and the web, Amazon is positioning Alexa+ as a comprehensive AI companion designed to be present wherever users need it.
