Amazon’s Great Indian Festival 2025 has kicked off with a record-breaking start, drawing over 38 crore customer visits in the first two days – the highest ever on Amazon.in. The festival opened for Prime members on September 22 and for all shoppers on September 23, with more than 70% of buyers from beyond the top nine metros, reflecting the expanding reach of Amazon’s digital marketplace.
Saurabh Srivastava, Vice President, Amazon India, said: “The first 48 hours have been our biggest ever, with unprecedented Prime member engagement. Our #GSTBachatUtsav initiative enabled sellers to pass on GST benefits worth crores, driving strong sales across home appliances, electronics, fashion, healthcare, and more. Customers can look forward to exciting deals through Diwali.”
Prime members from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities fueled demand across appliances, fashion, beauty, smartphones, and furniture. Over 80 lakh products were delivered to Prime members within two days, with metro deliveries exceeding 30 lakh items on same or next day. Amazon Business also saw 6X new business sign-ups and 4.4X growth in bulk orders in the first 24 hours.
Customers enjoyed ₹260 crore in savings via SBI cards, with GST benefits boosting sales across essentials and premium categories. Premium smartphones, QLED and Mini-LED TVs, lab diamonds, and apparel recorded double- and triple-digit growth.
Sellers also thrived, with over 16,000 SMBs tripling sales, predominantly from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Abhishek Dhanwani of Rajasthan Kraft India noted a 7X increase in daily sales, highlighting the festival’s transformative impact on businesses and local artisans.
With new deals rolling out daily until Diwali, the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 continues to reinforce its status as India’s most celebrated shopping extravaganza.
