Mattel’s iconic Barbie brand is celebrating International Women’s Day by recognizing five remarkable Indian women who have shattered stereotypes and inspired future generations in their respective fields.
The 2025 campaign spotlights cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, singer Neeti Mohan, fashion designer Anamika Khanna, chef Beena Noronha, and firefighter Meghna Sakpal – each selected for their groundbreaking achievements and influence.
Kaur, captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, made history as the first Indian woman to score a T20 international century. Mohan transformed from a reality show contestant into one of India’s most recognized musical voices. Khanna has revolutionized Indian couture while preserving traditional craftsmanship.
Noronha, as head chef of multiple prestigious establishments, has not only contributed to India’s culinary landscape but also championed women’s leadership in hospitality. Sakpal, a third-generation firefighter, demonstrates exceptional courage in a profession where women remain significantly underrepresented.
Through this initiative, Barbie reinforces its empowering “You Can Be Anything” message, encouraging children to pursue their dreams regardless of conventional limitations or gender stereotypes.
The campaign aligns with Barbie’s ongoing mission to showcase diverse role models who exemplify determination, excellence, and barrier-breaking achievement across various professional domains.
