bigbasket, a TATA Enterprise, has introduced a first-of-its-kind integration that allows users to browse, select, and pay for groceries directly within ChatGPT using UPI payments. This innovation enables customers to complete their purchase – from product discovery to checkout – entirely within the chatbot interface, positioning bigbasket among the first platforms in India to participate in this pilot program.
The initiative is part of OpenAI’s collaboration with NPCI and Razorpay, enabling secure UPI transactions via conversational AI. Shoppers can search for products, receive smart suggestions, and place orders – all through natural chat interactions – ushering in a new era of frictionless, AI-driven commerce.
