Britannia Industries Limited has announced a major overhaul of its senior marketing leadership, underlining its intent to strengthen brand strategy and accelerate growth in a rapidly evolving FMCG landscape. The company has appointed Puneet Das as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) while simultaneously elevating long-time internal leader Siddharth Gupta to Vice President – Marketing.
Puneet Das will assume the CMO role from February 16, 2026, joining Britannia as a full-time employee. His appointment comes at a critical juncture as the company navigates changing consumer preferences, premiumization trends, and heightened competition across biscuits, snacks, and adjacent food categories. With over 24 years of experience across Indian and international FMCG markets-including Africa, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka-Das brings deep expertise in building scalable, purpose-led brands.
Over the course of his career, Das has held senior leadership roles at Marico, PepsiCo India, GSK Consumer Healthcare India, and Tata Consumer Products. He has worked on several iconic brands such as 7Up, Boost, Horlicks, Tata Tea, and Tetley. Industry observers see his appointment as a strategic move to infuse fresh thinking, innovation, and long-term brand architecture into Britannia’s marketing approach.
In a parallel leadership move, Britannia has promoted Siddharth Gupta to Vice President – Marketing, effective February 1, 2026. Gupta has been with the company since 2018 and currently leads marketing for its biscuit, wafer, and snack portfolio-one of Britannia’s most significant revenue drivers. His elevation reflects the company’s focus on leadership continuity and internal talent development.
With nearly two decades of experience, including over ten years at Colgate Palmolive, Gupta brings strong capabilities in brand strategy, innovation, and category leadership. Together, the dual appointments signal Britannia’s balanced strategy-combining external expertise at the top with strong institutional knowledge to steer its next phase of growth.
