As cities light up for New Year celebrations, CARS24 has launched a stark outdoor campaign that refuses to be ignored. Instead of catchy slogans or stylized visuals, the brand has transformed billboards across Delhi NCR, Gurugram and Pune into sobering reminders of drunk driving-by mounting real, wrecked cars in full public view.
The initiative brings the consequences of reckless driving directly into everyday commuting spaces. These are not replicas or artistic interpretations, but actual damaged vehicles involved in crashes, presented without embellishment. The intent is simple: replace momentary shock with lasting reflection, and make people pause before getting behind the wheel under the influence.
Drunk driving remains a serious road safety concern in India, especially during festive periods. National estimates indicate thousands of alcohol-related accidents annually, resulting in significant loss of life. Despite regular enforcement and awareness drives, the issue continues to persist across regions, highlighting the need for stronger behavioural interventions.
Launched on December 29, the campaign relies on realism rather than dramatization. By confronting commuters with tangible evidence of what a single bad decision can lead to, CARS24 aims to shift attention from the excitement of celebration to the long-term consequences of unsafe choices. The on-ground visibility is being further amplified through digital platforms, extending the message beyond physical locations.
Commenting on the initiative, Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder and Group CMO of CARS24, said the campaign is rooted in accountability rather than awareness alone. He noted that if the sight of wreckage convinces even one person to leave their car behind or hand over the keys, the effort has served its purpose.
Through this campaign, CARS24 reinforces its commitment to responsible mobility and safer roads, urging people to celebrate responsibly and remember that no moment of celebration is worth a life.
