Cloudflare Outage Disrupts Global Services, Affecting Zerodha, Canva, and Major Platforms

Cloudflare experienced a significant global service disruption, impacting multiple platforms including Zerodha, Canva, Downdetector, and other widely used applications. Users across regions reported issues accessing websites and apps, triggering a spike in online complaints and outage reports.

According to Cloudflare’s official status page, the disruption affected the company’s Dashboard and related API systems, causing requests to fail or return errors. The issue also affected network availability, leading to partial or complete service interruptions on dependent platforms.

Cloudflare later confirmed that its engineering teams had implemented a fix and were closely monitoring system behaviour to ensure stability. The company noted that scheduled maintenance was already underway and assured users that updates would continue as services stabilized.

Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht posted on X, clarifying that the outage was not caused by a cyberattack. Instead, the disruption stemmed from disabling logging features linked to mitigating a recently reported React CVE. He added that most affected websites should now be accessible and acknowledged user frustration caused by the prolonged interruption.

This incident adds to a growing conversation about the vulnerability of internet infrastructure and the heavy reliance of major businesses on centralized cloud and security systems. With Cloudflare powering millions of websites globally, even minor disruptions can create widespread impact across industries, from fintech to design and digital services.

Further technical details and a post-incident analysis are expected in Cloudflare’s upcoming report.
