India’s two biggest passions-cricket and cinema-are coming together in a landmark viewing experience. PVR INOX has partnered with JioStar to bring the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 live to cinemas across India and Sri Lanka.
Building on the growing popularity of live sports screenings, the collaboration aims to recreate a stadium-like atmosphere inside cinema halls. Under the partnership, PVR INOX will screen select group-stage matches, including all India fixtures, followed by Super 8 games, Playoffs, Semi-Finals, and the Final, subject to regulatory approvals.
Aamer Bijli, Lead Specialist – Innovation, Film Marketing and Digital Programming at PVR INOX, highlighted that the initiative reflects evolving audience preferences. With strong responses to live cricket screenings in recent years, cinemas are increasingly being seen as communal destinations for marquee sporting events, not just movies.
The screenings promise a high-impact experience, combining large-format screens, immersive sound, and the comfort of premium cinema infrastructure. Fans can further elevate match days with PVR INOX’s food and beverage offerings, turning each game into a shared celebration.
Keeping accessibility in focus, ticket prices will start at ₹99, ensuring fans across metros and tier-2 and tier-3 cities can participate. Screenings are planned across major markets including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Jaipur, Guwahati, and more.
This move reinforces PVR INOX’s strategy to diversify beyond traditional film content and position cinemas as hubs for collective cultural experiences-where blockbuster matches feel as cinematic as blockbuster movies.
