Tata Group’s electronics retail chain Croma has officially appointed Shibashish Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective April 1, 2025.
Roy, who has spent over 20 years with the Tata Group, initially took on the CEO role in November 2024. Since then, he has been working alongside outgoing Managing Director Avijit Mitra in a carefully planned transition process that wrapped up at the end of March 2025.
During his initial months as CEO, Roy has already made an impact by expanding Croma’s market presence and enhancing customer experience across multiple sales channels.
Upon his appointment, Roy expressed gratitude for the board’s confidence and acknowledged Mitra’s contributions: “I am thankful for the board’s trust and appreciate Avijit Mitra’s contributions in laying a strong foundation for our future.”
Looking ahead, Roy outlined his strategic vision for Croma, focusing on market expansion, particularly in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, while leveraging digital innovation to create seamless shopping experiences across all channels.
Under Roy’s leadership, Croma plans to continue its growth by integrating physical and digital retail strategies to better serve evolving consumer preferences in the electronics retail space.
