Announcing the collaboration on Instagram, Deepika shared a short video teasing the partnership, calling it “pretty cool” and inviting fans to “chat” with her digital avatar. “I’m now part of Meta AI, and you can chat with my voice in English across six countries. Try it and let me know what you think!” she wrote.
The partnership marks a first for an Indian celebrity, making Padukone one of the earliest global personalities to voice an AI assistant. The collaboration bridges pop culture and technology, adding a relatable human element to Meta AI’s expanding ecosystem.
Industry experts note that Deepika’s familiar voice could help Meta engage younger, entertainment-driven audiences, making interactions with AI feel more personal and conversational. Meta joined in on the excitement, commenting on her post: “Suddenly we’re asking Meta AI even more questions.”
This collaboration aligns with Meta’s broader push to make its AI products more localised and personality-driven. Recently, the company introduced AI-powered dubbing for Instagram Reels in Hindi, enhancing accessibility for creators.
For Padukone, the move adds another global milestone to her career. After the success of Kalki 2898 AD, she is set to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in King. With Meta AI, she now takes her influence beyond cinema – into the voice of the future.
