Deepinder Goyal, founder and long-time leader of Eternal, has announced his decision to step away from the role of Group CEO, marking a significant leadership transition for the company. Subject to shareholder approval, Goyal will continue to remain on the board as Vice Chairman, ensuring continuity in long-term strategy, culture, and governance. Albinder Dhindsa, who has played a pivotal role in building and scaling key businesses within the group, will take over as the new Group CEO.

In his message to shareholders, Goyal explained that the decision stems from a growing desire to explore higher-risk ideas and experimentation that do not align with the risk profile of a listed public company. While he believes he has the capacity to manage both execution and exploration, the responsibilities and expectations attached to leading a public company demand singular focus. This transition allows Eternal to stay sharply focused on its core businesses, while giving Goyal the flexibility to pursue innovation beyond the company’s immediate scope.

Importantly, Goyal clarified what remains unchanged. His commitment to Eternal is intact, with his financial future and incentives still closely tied to the company’s long-term value creation. He will continue to work closely with the leadership team, contributing to strategy, leadership development, ethics, and governance. The company’s decentralized structure, where individual businesses operate with high autonomy, will also remain the same.
