Dentsu India and IWMBuzz Media have entered a strategic three-year partnership to co-present the India Gaming Awards and co-author the India Gaming Report. This collaboration aims to deepen engagement within India’s fast-evolving pure-play gaming segment-focusing on entertainment-driven gaming with no monetary stakes.
Building on the success of the inaugural India Gaming Report launched last year, the renewed partnership will delve deeper into consumer insights, cultural trends, monetisation models, and regulatory landscapes shaping India’s gaming ecosystem. According to previous estimates, India is home to 138.5 million gamers, with the pure-play gaming marketvalued at ₹6,715 crore, growing at a 24% CAGR. The growth is being propelled by a mobile-first population and rising participation from tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
The India Gaming Awards will evolve into a year-round engagement platform, bringing together a cross-section of the industry-gamers, developers, publishers, influencers, brands, and policymakers.
Harsha Razdan, CEO – South Asia, Dentsu, noted,
“This collaboration supports the rise of gaming as both a cultural phenomenon and a key economic sector in India.”
Narayan Devanathan, President & CSO – South Asia, Dentsu, added,
“The conversation must shift from gaming being an emerging industry to it becoming a defining force of the digital economy.”
Siddhartha Laik, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, IWMBuzz Media, said the alliance will scale the awards and report, while helping define the future narrative of India’s gaming sector.
