EaseMyTrip Cleared by ED in Mahadev Betting App Investigation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has concluded its investigation into the Mahadev Online Book (MOB) betting app, stating that there is no evidence linking EaseMyTrip to the illegal gambling syndicate. The probe, which began in late 2023, focused on uncovering money laundering activities associated with the app.

The ED’s investigation revealed that MOB operated as a large-scale online betting platform, facilitating illegal gambling on various games such as poker, card games, and sports. The promoters, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, were found to be running operations from Dubai, using a network of benami bank accounts and hawala channels to launder money. The agency seized assets worth ₹417 crore and froze securities and demat accounts valued at ₹130.57 crore during raids in Kolkata .

Despite the extensive investigation, no evidence has been found linking EaseMyTrip to the operations of the Mahadev betting app. The company has cooperated fully with the authorities and has not been implicated in any wrongdoing related to the case.

The ED’s findings have been welcomed by EaseMyTrip, which has maintained its commitment to ethical business practices and transparency. The company continues to operate independently and remains focused on providing quality travel services to its customers.I

As the investigation concludes, the ED has emphasized its commitment to combating illegal online betting and money laundering activities, ensuring that such operations do not go unchecked.
