Warner Bros. Discovery’s premium sports channel, Eurosport India, is set to expand its portfolio by introducing pickleball to Indian viewers in 2026. As part of this move, the channel will provide exclusive coverage of the World Pickleball League (WPBL) Season 2, scheduled from January 24 to February 8 at Mumbai’s Jio World Garden. The tournament will feature top international players from 18 countries, highlighting pickleball’s rapid rise as a global sport.
Arjun Nohwar, SVP & MD, India & South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said the addition of pickleball aligns with the channel’s mission to build the next generation of sports in India. He emphasized that the sport offers an opportunity to engage audiences through high-quality broadcast, storytelling, and sustained fan interaction, moving beyond standalone events to long-term visibility.
Gaurav Natekar, Founder and CEO of the World Pickleball League, added that the partnership will enable the league to reach millions of new viewers internationally. Season 2 of WPBL has grown into a global spectacle, attracting players from over 25 countries and promising enhanced sportainment experiences, including more live matches and immersive fan engagement.
With the league hosted in Mumbai, the collaboration also underlines India’s emerging role as a hub for international sporting events and innovative sports entertainment. Eurosport India’s coverage is expected to elevate pickleball’s profile in the country, combining premium broadcast quality with the excitement of a rapidly growing global sport.
This initiative reflects Eurosport’s commitment to diversifying its content and bringing emerging international sports properties to Indian audiences, providing both visibility and a platform for fan engagement in a new-age sporting landscape.
