Hurun India U30: Zepto Co-founders Top the List of Young Entrepreneurs

India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is evolving, and the newly launched Avendus Wealth-Hurun India U30 List 2025recognises the rising stars shaping that change. The list features 79 entrepreneurs aged 30 or younger, who are driving innovation across sectors like technology, consumer goods, healthcare, and financial services.

Part of the broader Uth Series 2025, the list includes first-generation founders whose startups are valued at over $25 million, and second-generation leaders managing family businesses worth $50 million or more.

Topping the list are Zepto co-founders Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha, both aged 22, who represent a growing cohort of self-made entrepreneurs-66 of the 79 honourees are first-generation founders.

While Mumbai leads with the most entries (15), followed by Bengaluru and Delhi, several entrepreneurs hail from smaller cities like Phagwara, Hubballi, Ranchi, and Salem, underscoring the democratisation of opportunity in India’s startup landscape.

The average age on the list is 28. Devika Gholap, 28, founder of OptraSCAN, is the youngest woman featured, recognised for her work in digital pathology.

Collectively, the featured businesses have raised $5.2 billion in equity and $270 million in debt, employing over 64,000 people.

Svatantra Microfin, founded by Ananyashree Birla, is the largest employer with 23,289 staff. At 30, she also holds the longest entrepreneurial track record on the list-13 years.

Software products and services lead the sectoral distribution (21 entrepreneurs), followed by consumer goods (12) and financial services (9), with over 60% of the ventures being service-led and tech-enabled.
