The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have jointly issued a clarification reaffirming that their media rights agreement for India remains firmly in place, putting to rest recent speculation around a possible withdrawal or disruption to the partnership.
In a statement, both organisations said the reports suggesting uncertainty around the deal were inaccurate and did not reflect the position of either party. They confirmed that the existing contract continues unchanged, with JioStar remaining the ICC’s official media rights partner in India.
The statement added that JioStar is fully committed to fulfilling its obligations under the agreement, both in letter and spirit. The two sides remain aligned on delivering comprehensive, high-quality coverage of ICC events for Indian audiences, including marquee tournaments such as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The ICC and JioStar also clarified that planning and preparations for upcoming global events are progressing as scheduled. Viewers, advertisers and other stakeholders can expect no disruption to broadcasts or associated activities. The partnership, they noted, continues to be supported by regular collaboration across operational, commercial and strategic areas.
Both organisations emphasised that their long-standing association is focused on expanding the reach, engagement and impact of cricket in one of the sport’s most important markets. By addressing the rumours directly, the ICC and JioStar aim to reassure fans and the industry that the partnership remains stable and future-focused.
The clarification seeks to conclusively end speculation and reiterate a shared commitment to bringing uninterrupted, world-class cricket coverage to millions of fans across India.
