Indian-Origin Executive Shailesh Jejurikar Selected as Next CEO of P&G

Global FMCG leader sees another Indian-origin executive at the helm.

Procter & Gamble (P&G), the world’s largest consumer goods company, has announced the appointment of Mumbai-born Shailesh Jejurikar as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026.

Jejurikar succeeds Jon Moeller, who led P&G through a post-pandemic growth phase and will transition to the role of Executive Chairman, offering strategic counsel to the incoming CEO.

A P&G veteran since 1989, Jejurikar rose through the ranks-holding senior leadership roles across Health & Beauty Care, P&G Professional, and most notably as head of the Fabric & Home Care division (home to brands like Tide, Ariel, Downy, and Febreze), which accounts for nearly a third of P&G’s total revenues. As COO since 2021, he oversaw P&G’s global enterprise markets, operations, and sustainability initiatives, including ambitious programs like “Supply Chain 3.0” and integrated value chains across regions such as India, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and more.

His elevation continues P&G’s tradition of promoting seasoned internal leaders to the top, underlining strategic continuity as the company embarks upon a significant restructuring-planned divestitures, reduction of 7,000 jobs, and heightened operational efficiency to counter inflation and softer consumer spending.

At the appointment announcement, P&G’s lead director remarked on Jejurikar’s ability to deliver results across geographies and categories. Jejurikar himself expressed confidence in P&G’s innovation, operational excellence, and future growth trajectory under his leadership.

With this leadership transition, Jejurikar becomes one of a growing league of Indian-origin global CEOs, reinforcing India’s impact on the global corporate landscape.
