JioHotstar has announced a robust slate of Malayalam original content scheduled for 2026, signalling a strong push into premium regional storytelling across genres. The lineup was unveiled at a high-profile event held on December 9, which brought together leading figures from South Indian cinema, including Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kamal Haasan, Nivin Pauly, Priya Mani and Urvashi.
Headlining the upcoming slate is Pharma, a corporate thriller featuring Nivin Pauly, Rajit Kapur and Shruti Ramachandran. Set within the high-stakes world of the pharmaceutical industry, the series examines the intersection of ethics, profit and power in modern healthcare. Pharma is set to premiere on December 19.
The platform also revealed several returning and new originals aimed at catering to diverse audience preferences. Kerala Crime Files – Season 3, starring Aju Varghese, Lal and Arjun Radhakrishnan, will continue its gritty, investigative storytelling inspired by real-life crime cases. Adding a lighter tone is Cousins and Kalyanams, a family-centric series that blends humour and romance while celebrating Malayali wedding traditions.
Further expanding the slate is Secret Stories: ROSLIN, a psychological anthology starring Meena, Vineeth and Hakim, which explores layered mysteries surrounding the enigmatic character Roslin. Anali, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and featuring Leona Lishoy and Nikhila Vimal, is a rural mystery that uncovers long-buried secrets in a remote village setting.
Rounding out the lineup is 1000 Babies – Season 2, with Neena Gupta and Rahman reprising key roles as the medical drama delves deeper into the personal and professional lives of neonatal care teams.
