The name change follows Bosch’s full acquisition of the joint venture and marks a new chapter for the company.
The board of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd. has approved a proposal to rename the company as Bosch Home Comfort India Ltd., aligning with its new ownership under Germany’s Robert Bosch GmbH.
A postal ballot process has been initiated to secure shareholder approval for the rebranding, with e-voting open from September 18 to October 17, 2025.
This decision follows Bosch’s completion of its acquisition of the global Johnson Controls-Hitachi joint venture on August 1, 2025, officially making the Indian operations a Bosch subsidiary. The rebranding is part of a global effort to integrate the business under Bosch’s Home Comfort vertical and unify its brand identity worldwide.
In a parallel development, the board has approved the appointment of S R B C & Co. LLP as the company’s new statutory auditors, filling the vacancy created by Price Waterhouse & Co. LLP’s resignation in July 2025. PwC stepped down citing a potential conflict of interest due to its global network’s non-audit engagements with Bosch.
The newly appointed auditors will hold office until the company’s next Annual General Meeting in 2026, ensuring continuity and compliance during the transition period.
