Johnson’s Baby Marks 16-Year Milestone in Neonatal Support, Trains Over 2 Lakh Healthcare Workers in India

Johnson’s Baby is marking 16 years of neonatal health impact in India through its long-term support of a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in partnership with a leading paediatric association. The initiative focuses on preventing birth asphyxia – one of the leading causes of newborn mortality within 24 hours of birth in the country.

Every year, approximately 1.25 lakh newborns in India lose their lives to preventable conditions such as asphyxia. Timely medical intervention within the first 60 seconds after birth can increase the survival rate by up to 50%, making trained healthcare support crucial.

Through the program, more than 2 lakh nurses, paediatricians and midwives have been trained in neonatal resuscitation protocols, equipping them with lifesaving skills, clinical tools and evidence-based intervention techniques.

Manoj Gadgil, Business Unit Head – Essential Health & Skin Health and VP Marketing, Kenvue India, said the initiative reinforces the brand’s core mission. “Protecting babies starts from the first breath. For 16 years, we’ve supported neonatal training to ensure healthcare workers are equipped to respond during those critical first moments,” he shared.

To amplify awareness, Johnson’s Baby has launched a digital campaign titled Project Golden Minute, featuring a film conceptualized by DDB Mudra. Inspired by the traditional cradle song Sohar, the film highlights the emotional journey of saving an asphyxiated newborn – transforming tension into hope. Revenue generated from the song will be reinvested to scale the initiative.

The campaign will be extended across influencer outreach, cinema integrations and public-engagement touchpoints, ensuring widespread awareness around neonatal health.
