Shakti Upadhyay, Senior General Manager and Head of Marketing and Public Relations at Kia India, has stepped down from his role. A key figure in the brand’s journey in India, Upadhyay played a pivotal role in establishing Kia’s marketing vision, strategy, and the core Marketing & PR team that helped launch and shape the brand’s identity in the Indian market.
Reflecting on his tenure, Upadhyay shared, “From the early days when Kia was just a dream in India, to today, when it inspires millions – this journey became a part of me. Kia was never just work. It was family, it was faith, it was a dream carried together. As I turn the page, I carry gratitude for the bonds, the belief, and the spirit of ‘Movement that Inspires’ that will always live within me.”
Upadhyay began his career as an advertising specialist at Enterprise Nexus Communications. He later joined Hyundai Motor India, where he rose to the role of Deputy Manager – Marketing. His career also includes a significant stint at Samsung Electronics, where he led marketing communications for consumer durables. There, he drove demand through data-driven consumer insights, on-ground observations, and close collaboration with creative partners to sharpen communication outputs.
His departure marks the end of a defining chapter in Kia India’s brand-building journey.
