“In 2025, the real chills come from disappearing dates and mind games,” Tinder quipped while announcing the series. With Dating Scaries, the brand taps into Gen Z’s love for self-aware humour, turning modern dating nightmares into moments of reflection – and laughter.
The first episode, “Gaslighting,” marks the grand return of Dholakia’s iconic Komolika Basu. This time, she isn’t breaking hearts – she’s calling out manipulation, dropping lines like: “Gaslighting can be scary – and explosive – to your dating life. Stay honest, stay happy. Issued in dating interest, love Tinder.”
Episode two, starring Rajat Bedi, dives into the confusion of situationships, while Dilip Tahil takes ghosting literally in episode three, delivering the dad-worthy zinger: “Beta, you want dopamine, not diabetes. Ghost him!”
Aditi Shorewal, Communications Lead, Tinder India and Korea, said, “Humour is central to how Gen Z connects with love. This series reflects that helping young daters navigate relationships with honesty, safety, and fun.”
By mixing nostalgia, satire, and social insight, Dating Scaries positions Tinder not just as a dating app, but as a cultural voice for India’s swipe generation, proving that love can be spooky, funny, and refreshingly real.
