Laqshya Media Group has been awarded the exclusive mandate by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to manage fan engagement and in-stadium experiences for the Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. The scope of work includes the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, mid-innings match entertainment, and overall spectator engagement across all 22 matches of the tournament.
With this appointment, Laqshya will curate the complete live experience inside stadiums, with the objective of elevating the WPL from a competitive sporting league into a large-scale cultural celebration. The 2026 season holds particular importance as it will be the first major tournament hosted after India’s historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 victory. Building on this milestone, the league is being positioned as a celebratory homecoming for the world champions, with Laqshya conceptualising the season as a continuous “Victory Lap” that carries national pride through every match.
The tournament will kick off with a high-energy Opening Ceremony featuring Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez, setting the tone for a spectacle-driven season. The Closing Ceremony will see a live performance by Yo Yo Honey Singh, marking a grand finale to the league.
Beyond marquee ceremonies, Laqshya will implement a high-frequency engagement model across matches. This includes live mid-innings performances, technology-led experiences such as synchronised drone shows, laser displays and immersive visual acts, alongside traditional elements like live bands and on-ground fan activations.
Extending visibility beyond stadiums, Laqshya is also executing a nationwide out-of-home campaign across major cities, airports and state capitals using digital and static formats, aimed at embedding the WPL into everyday public spaces.
Commenting on the mandate, Alok Jalan, CMD, Laqshya Media Group, said the focus is on building scalable, meaningful sporting experiences that strengthen women’s sport and deepen fan participation across India.
