Lionsgate Play to expand Hindi and South Indian content in 2026

Lionsgate Play has announced an ambitious content slate for 2026, featuring over 100 premieres across Hollywood, Hindi, and South Indian titles. The move marks a major step in the platform’s evolution from a Hollywood-focused service to a culturally attuned entertainment destination that resonates with India’s diverse audiences.

Since its launch, Lionsgate Play has transformed into a broad-based streaming platform, now reaching over 40 million viewers across India. In 2025, it deepened its regional focus with Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam releases alongside global hits such as Den of Thieves 2Locked, and The Apprentice, driving a 40% increase in viewership.

The 2026 lineup promises a mix of global and regional storytelling – including Hollywood titles like Greenland: MigrationMutinyKiss of the Spider Woman, and The Rivals of Amziah King, featuring stars such as Gerard Butler, Angelina Jolie, and Matthew McConaughey. Additionally, the platform will premiere over 25 South Indian filmsacross Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, and introduce a slate of Hindi originals spanning thrillers, comedies, and game shows. Iconic titles like RamboJumanjiMen in Black, and Spider-Man will also join its growing library.

Rohit Jain, President, Lionsgate Play Asia, said, “2026 marks a turning point for Lionsgate Play. We’re expanding our stories, strengthening regional ties, and making premium entertainment more inclusive and accessible than ever before.

This strategy cements Lionsgate Play’s shift toward a globally rooted yet locally relevant streaming experience.
