L’Oréal Expands Luxury Dominance with Kering Beauté Acquisition and 50-Year Brand Licences

L’Oréal has completed its acquisition of Kering Beauté, marking a significant expansion of its luxury portfolio and deepening its strategic alliance with Kering. The deal includes the addition of the House of Creed-one of the world’s most prestigious fragrance brands-along with the signing of exclusive 50-year licences to create, develop, and distribute beauty and fragrance products for Bottega Veneta and Balenciaga.

As part of the broader agreement, L’Oréal will also secure rights to a similar long-term licence for Gucci’s beauty business once its existing agreement with Coty expires, ensuring continuity and compliance with current contractual obligations. Beyond beauty, both groups are also exploring future opportunities in wellness and longevity through a joint venture, signalling a forward-looking expansion into adjacent categories.

This partnership represents a major milestone for both companies. For L’Oréal, it reinforces its leadership in luxury beauty by bringing globally iconic brands under its umbrella, combining heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation. For Kering, the alliance allows it to leverage L’Oréal’s expertise in scaling beauty businesses, unlocking new growth potential across its maisons.

With a shared focus on creativity, desirability, and long-term value creation, the collaboration sets the stage for sustained growth over the next five decades-positioning both L’Oréal and Kering at the forefront of the global luxury beauty industry.
