Mankind Pharma has expanded its presence in India’s growing pet care sector with the launch of PetStar Delight, marking its entry into the cat food market. The brand initially introduced PetStar dog food in 2022, and this new category addition reflects rising demand for tailored feline nutrition.
India’s cat food market is valued at approximately ₹1,500 crore, with monthly sales of around ₹120 crore and an annual growth rate of 18–20%. Recognising this potential, Mankind Pharma has developed formulations designed specifically for kittens and adult cats, with a strong focus on health and dietary requirements.
PetStar Delight includes functional ingredients like cranberry to support urinary health, turmeric for digestive and immune benefits, and taurine, an essential nutrient crucial for heart and eye development in cats. The range is produced in Thailand, adheres to strict global quality standards, and excludes artificial colours or preservatives.
The nutritional composition varies by life stage, offering 32% protein and 12% fat for kittens, and 30% protein and 10% fat for adult cats, supporting energy, muscle growth and overall well-being.
Speaking about the expansion, Rajeev Juneja, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mankind Pharma, highlighted the brand’s mission to offer scientifically backed, affordable pet nutrition. Dr. Piyush Prashant echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the company’s growing expertise in the pet food category.
Available in 400g, 1kg and 2.8kg packs, PetStar Delight is priced at ₹399 (1kg kitten) and ₹375 (1kg adult) and will be distributed nationwide.
