Mathrubhumi Group has partnered with Federal Bank to launch the 10th Kerala edition of Speak for India, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to youth-led public discourse and democratic engagement. The grand finale of Speak for Kerala is scheduled for January 16, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the initiative in the state.
Launched in 2014, Speak for India is a national public speaking and debate platform designed for college students. Over the years, it has expanded across multiple states and institutions, providing young participants with an opportunity to articulate views on social issues, public policy, and national developments. The programme follows a structured format, beginning with college-level rounds and progressing through zonal and semi-final stages before culminating in a state-level finale.
For the 2025–26 Kerala edition, participants can register online and compete in either English or Malayalam, ensuring inclusivity and wider participation. The state-level inauguration was held at Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, and was inaugurated by Dr Vasuki IAS, Secretary, General Education Department, Government of Kerala.
Commenting on the partnership, Devika Shreyams Kumar, Director – Operations, Mathrubhumi Group, highlighted the initiative’s role in bringing together students, educators, and thought leaders on a single platform to encourage critical thinking, meaningful dialogue, and nation-building conversations.
The programme is being conducted in collaboration with the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation, underlining Federal Bank’s continued focus on education and youth empowerment. With its emphasis on debate, dialogue, and civic awareness, Speak for Kerala continues to nurture informed, confident voices ready to engage with India’s evolving public discourse.
