Myntra turns ‘FD’ into Father’s Drip in quirky Father’s Day push

Myntra turns ‘FD’ into Father’s Drip in quirky Father’s Day push

Set in a 90s-inspired world, the campaign reimagines ‘FD’ as Father’s Drip, not fixed deposit.

This Father’s Day, Myntra has rolled out a playful campaign titled ‘Invest in FDs – Father’s Drip’, putting the spotlight on Indian dads and their endearingly quirky fashion sense. The film leans into humour, showcasing classic dad style traits-like socks with sandals-while reintroducing the concept of “FD” in an unexpected and fashionable twist.

At the heart of the campaign is Myntra’s Father’s Day Store, a curated collection of fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products designed to help dads elevate their wardrobe. The store offers a range of carefully selected items, aiming to make Father’s Day gifting stylish, fun, and meaningful.

Commenting on the campaign, Monalisa Panda, associate director – social media marketing, Myntra, said:
“This campaign celebrates the subtle charm and lasting impact fathers have on our lives, often through unconventional expressions. ‘Father’s Drip’ is our way of spotlighting their overlooked yet iconic style. With a curated Father’s Day Store, we’re making it easy to gift dads something special – thoughtful, trendy, and truly personal. The film captures this in a lighthearted tone that brings a smile and reinforces Myntra as the go-to platform for fashionable and heartfelt gifting.”

Sharing his creative perspective, Jaunty, director of the film, added:
“I had a blast directing this one. The idea of celebrating dads’ fashion in a nostalgic yet cheeky way was irresistible. The retro 90s vibe gave us a great visual language to play with, representing that ‘timeless dad drip’. It was a joy to build a world that’s nostalgic, modern, and slightly offbeat. And thanks to Myntra, maybe this Father’s Day, dad drip finally gets its well-deserved upgrade.”

The video is set in a 90s-inspired world, where an investment advisor redefines FD—not as fixed deposit, but Father’s Drip. He evaluates a dad’s outdated style and everyday quirks, before giving him a complete makeover using Myntra’s curated selections. The transformation concludes with the father proudly proclaiming:
“Ab sab log bolenge, ‘Baap re baap, ye toh drip ka bhi baap!’”
