In a powerful move to promote healthy eating habits, Narayana Health has unveiled its latest health awareness initiative—‘Think Before You Order’, launched in line with World Health Day 2025. The campaign directly targets India’s urban youth and working professionals, urging them to rethink their food choices amid the growing culture of convenience-driven ordering.
With quick commerce apps fueling an explosion in junk food consumption, Narayana Health highlights alarming trends: Bengaluru alone records over 6 million burger orders annually, while biryani leads nationally with 83 million orders. Shocking examples include a Bengaluru resident spending ₹50,000 on pasta in a year, and a Delhi customer ordering 250 onion pizzas at once.
Dessert data is equally concerning—choco lava cakes clocked 3.6 million orders, followed by chocolate truffle cakes at 2.27 million. According to Narayana Health, such habits, paired with sedentary lifestyles, are significantly increasing cases of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, and heart disease in younger populations.
Ashish Bajaj, Group CMO at Narayana Health, said, “This campaign reframes food choices through awareness. We’re not demonising food but encouraging mindfulness at the point of decision-making.”
The campaign creatively mimics the interface of food delivery apps, replacing discounts and deals with the health risks associated with popular dishes. With visuals such as timers, scrollable menus, and clickable prompts, it disrupts user patterns in a relatable way.
