Mumbai: Nazara Technologies has announced a major global expansion move, signing definitive agreements to acquire a 50% controlling stake in Spanish gaming platforms Bluetile Games and BestPlay Systems for $100.3 million (approximately ₹918 crore).
Bluetile brings significant scale to the table, with a portfolio of 17 casual and social mobile games, including popular titles like Yatzy, Domino Legends, Mahjong Voyage, and Spade Stars. The platform has achieved nearly 375 million downloads globally and attracts around 22 million monthly active users, making it a strong player in the casual gaming space.
BestPlay Systems complements this with its proprietary rewarded engagement platform, which focuses on user acquisition, retention, game discovery, and cross-promotion-critical elements in scaling gaming ecosystems.
A key highlight of the acquisition is Bluetile’s deep integration of artificial intelligence across its operations. From game development and data infrastructure to marketing and live operations, AI enables faster development cycles and improved monetisation strategies.
Led by founder Raymond Stauffer, the team brings experience from global giants like Zynga, King, Voodoo, Moonactive, and Meta.
Nazara CEO Nitish Mittersain emphasised that this move aligns with the company’s vision to build AI-first, globally scalable gaming businesses.
By combining Bluetile’s AI capabilities, BestPlay’s distribution engine, and Nazara’s global publishing ecosystem, the partnership aims to accelerate the creation and worldwide expansion of next-generation casual gaming experiences.
