With cricket fever gripping the nation ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, News18 India has unveiled Stump Mic, a new cricket talk show designed to deliver candid, high-energy conversations throughout the tournament. The show went on air from February 7 and will run for the entire duration of the World Cup.
Positioned as a refreshing alternative to conventional, analysis-heavy cricket programming, Stump Mic focuses on light, honest and fan-driven discussions. Hosted by senior journalist Anand Narasimhan, the show blends sharp opinions, match insights, behind-the-scenes anecdotes and spontaneous reactions, capturing the raw spirit of the game.
The expert panel brings together a mix of seasoned cricketers and contemporary voices from the cricket ecosystem. The lineup includes former India batter and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, ex-India fast bowler S Sreesanth, Indian pacer Umesh Yadav, former England spinner Monty Panesar, and digital creator Yuvraj Dua. Strengthening the on-ground connect, Vimal Kumar-popularly known as Vimalwa-joins the show alongside News18 India’s correspondents, offering live updates, match-day buzz and fan reactions straight from the stadiums.
Stump Mic airs in two daily editions aligned with live match action. The pre-match show, scheduled from 3:50 PM to 4:50 PM, sets the context and key talking points ahead of play. The post-match edition, airing from 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM, dives into detailed analysis, reactions and standout performances from the day’s game.
Inspired by the spontaneous chatter often caught on stump microphones during matches, the show aims to blend expert insight with banter and fan-centric storytelling. Viewers can tune in to Stump Mic at 3:50 PM and 11:00 PM on India matchdays, exclusively on News18 India.
