Celebrating the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team’s historic Asia Cup bronze, the film captures a story of grit, belief, and breaking barriers.
Pocket FM, the audio series platform, has launched ‘Sound of Courage’-the latest installment in its ‘India, Kuch Acha Suno’ campaign-honouring the inspiring journey of the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team from Ladakh’s frozen lakes to the international stage.
Despite facing societal resistance, family opposition, and limited resources, the team defied all odds to win a historic bronze medal at the Asia Cup. Training often in borrowed men’s gear and braving harsh freezing conditions, their story is a powerful testament to persistence and self-belief.
“Victory is born out of persistence,” reflects team captain Tsewang Chuskit on their remarkable journey. Harjinder Singh ‘Jindi’, General Secretary of the Ice Hockey Association of India, emphasised that their achievement goes beyond the medal-it stands as a symbol of resilience and passion.
Narrated by Padma Shri awardee Morup Namgyal, the film features real-life players including Chuskit, Sonam Angmo, Skarma Rinchen, Rinchen Dolma, among others. Set against the stark, breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, the film celebrates not only the sport but also the courage of Indian women forging their own path.
Vineet Singh, SVP & Head of Brand Marketing, Communications and Partnerships at Pocket FM, said,
“In a world full of noise and negativity, we want to shine a light on stories that inspire. ‘Sound of Courage’ is a tribute to those who dare to defy the odds.”
Conceptualised by Pocket Entertainment’s in-house creative team in collaboration with Black And White Films, the film reinforces Pocket FM’s commitment to amplifying real stories that bring hope, pride, and purpose to Indian audiences.
